Description: PHYSICIAN RECRUITER
 
This position will be responsible for the successful recruitment of qualified physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) for Froedtert South Medical Group.  Recruitment duties will extend to coordinating orientationand on-boarding of new physicians and APPs and will provide regular contact in the new physician’s or APP’s first twelve months of employment to assure appropriate fit and retention.  This position will have a dual reporting relationship to the Vice President accountable for the Froedtert South Medical Group and the Vice President of Human Resources.
 
Functions:
  • Reviews organizational and community needs for physicians and makes recommendations to the Administrative Team for specific physician and APP recruitment goals and strategy.
     
  • Identifies and sources targeted physicians using a variety of creative and effective recruitment methods. 
     
  • Reviews and prepares recruitment agreements with placement firms for approval routing.
     
  • Prepares job descriptions and develops job postings. Identifies and searches candidate database(s) for potential candidates.  Develops hiring campaigns for physicians and places follow-up calls to proactively source candidates.
     
  • Reviews CVs/applications and phone screens all candidates to determine qualifications, experience, ability to communicate, and suitability for the organization. 
     
  • Able to present physician opportunities with detail and clarity, providing information about Froedtert South Medical Group, compensation plan, benefits, and specific elements of the position.
     
  • Researches and attends job fairs, conferences, and other physician recruitment opportunities.  Reviews association publications, websites and other appropriate resources on which to post physician and APP opportunities. Develops and maintains relationships with residency programs representatives.  Assists with the development of promotional materials, such as banners and posters to be used in recruitment events.
     
  • Maintains a candidate tracking database reflecting documentation of positions open, interviews scheduled, the conversation offers made or not made, offers accepted or not accepted, reasons for offers declined, etc., and shares data with appropriate Administrative Team members.  Follows up with all candidates and referring parties in a timely manner.
     
  • Tracks and routes for approval all invoices and funds spent on external recruitment resources including job postings, ad placements, third-party placement fees, etc.  Analyzes the effectiveness of advertising and resources used.
     
  • Travels or makes arrangements for organizational leaders to meet and interview the candidates in his or her current setting as needed.
     
  • Directs, organizes and coordinates all aspects of candidate itineraries, agendas and site visits including travel and hotel reservations, clinic, hospital and community tours, appointments with physicians, lunch/dinner reservations, and processes all related receipts. Will accompany and escort candidates through their site visits and interviews at FS.
     
  • Contacts a minimum of three professional references for each candidate; documents information gathered.  Follows-up and obtains feedback from interviewers and candidates after the interview to determine interest on all parties’ behalf.
     
  • Provides continued assistance to new hire physicians in becoming acclimated to the community during their transition and relocation.  Contacts new hires after 30 and 60 days to determine satisfaction with the process and assess opportunities for improvement.
     
  • Stays current on regional and national physician hiring trends and practices; researches competitor’s activities to keep informed of changes impacting Froedtert South Medical Group’s ability to recruit and retain top physician talent.  Provides input to improve physician-related processes.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, related field or equivalent.
     
  • 2 – 4 years recruiting experience, physician, healthcare, or agency recruiting experience required.
     
  • Advanced proficiency in various computer applications, e.g., excel spreadsheets, word processing, e-mail, database management, and presentation software.
     
  • Excellent communications skills including negotiation skills.  Must be persistent and persuasive.
     
  • Must be able to establish rapport and effective working relationships with physicians and medical group leadership.
     
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage a large workload within tight deadlines.
     
  • Must possess problem-solving skill and be self-motivated.
     
  • Must have the ability to develop alternative solutions to problems; comparing and analyzing data; preparing clear, concise, thorough, meaningful, and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memoranda, and other documents.
     
  • Must have the ability to manage economic and time restricted travel arrangements for candidates, leadership team members and self.
     
  • Must have the ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize, schedule, coordinate, and make decisions relating to assigned tasks.
     
  • Must possess strong customer service orientation, a positive attitude, be highly self-motivated, directed, and change oriented.
 
Job Conditions:
  • Irregular hours including weekends and holidays;
     
  • Occasional travel will be expected;
     
  • Ability to communicate with highly intelligent individuals and understand various foreign accents and cultural differences; and
     
  • Stressful conditions due to attempting to work within schedules of candidates and executive team members.
