U.S. Bank is seeking a **Senior Information Security Engineer** with demonstrated competence and visionary leadership experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. In this role the Sr. IS Engineer will evaluate new and existing security solutions and technologies to protect data/ assets from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, destruction, modification, or disruption. Analyze system services, operating systems, networks & applications.



Responsibilities:

Evaluate new and existing security solutions/technologies: network proxies, intrusions detection/prevention systems, remote access, second factor authentication, infrastructure & system hardening, patch deployment & vulnerability management.



Performs the daily operation and execution of security-related tools, processes and controls related to cyber defense initiatives.



Helps coordinate and drive remediation of identified risks and control deficiencies. Works to identify new security issues and risks, and is involved in developing mitigation plans.



Looks for ways to optimize security process and recommends opportunities and solutions for improvement and automation.



Serve as a technical and functional subject matter expert across multiple security domain areas, raising awareness and communicating security risks within the company.



Stay abreast of current technologies, developments, security compliance requirements, standards and industry trends in order to help achieve the goals of the department. Evaluates and recommends new and emerging security products and technologies.



Supports and participates in incident response and technical investigations as needed.



Ensures adherence to compliance regulations and policies. Works to develop and interpret security policies and procedures.



Supports acquisition and vendor risk assessment due diligence.



**Qualifications:**



Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science, or equivalent work experience

- Five or more year of experience in information security

- Two or more years of experience in IT infrastructure management, application architecture, risk management, middleware technology, and IT project management



Preferred Skills/Experience

- Working knowledge of IT environment including service-oriented and IT architecture, industry trends and direction, system and technology integration, and IT standards, procedures and policies, and emerging technologies

- Basic knowledge of IT audit and control, governance, asset management, software licensing, product and vendor evaluation, and training delivery

- Extensive knowledge of technical troubleshooting

- Working knowledge of IT systems management including change control, software process improvement, and technical writing/documentation

- Basic knowledge of information assurance

- Working knowledge of information security architecture, security technologies, administration, audits, network and internet security, and computer crime

- Working proficiency of various technology tools

- Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with co-workers, customers and management

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
